EPIC Finalist Update

Last March I was notified by the Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition that my coming-of-old-age novel, "Old Ways and New Days," was a finalist in the contemporary fiction category.

EPIC recently announced the winners in the 17 categories in its annual competition for ebooks and my novel didn't make the list.

My congratulations to CJane Elliott for her coming-out novel, "Sex, Love, and Videogames," named the best in contemporary fiction.

It was an honor for me to have my novel considered for the award. Simply being one of three finalists was gratifying.

Click here to see the list of all the winners, including Ariana Awards for best book covers.

EPIC is now accepting books through July 15 for its 2018 competition. Visit the website for more information. Best of luck to those who decide to enter their novel.

You might also want to consider joining EPIC and be part of a network of authors, publishers, editors, and others in the industry.

Until the next time . . . .

  1. Well done. Of course the most important thing for me to do to get possible acceptance is to enter. I will soon but there's always so much more writing to be done.

    1. Thanks, Roger. You need to check out the categories in the EPIC competition. I believe this was on the second time I ever entered a contest so my expectations weren't that high so I was a bit surprised to be a finalist. My next novel won't be out until later this year (and perhaps next year, who knows?) so I won't be able to enter the current contest. Good luck with the writing!

  2. Congratulations on being a finalist. I can only hope my writing will someday achieve such an accolade. I’m sure you’ll receive many more opportunities like this one.

    1. Thanks, Denise. I seldom enter contests. You have to be careful about which ones to enter because some are simply using the contests as a way to make money. I have no doubt that you'll be receiving some honors and/or awards for your writing. Why? Because you're a good writer -- clean and concise. As one of my writing friends says, "Write on!"
